SouthStar Communities is proud to announce that Vintage Oaks, it's flagship community in New Braunfels, is the fastest-growing community in the Texas Hill Country for the fifth consecutive year. The 3,300-acre Vintage Oaks masterplan is the fifth-most active and successful community in San Antonio, with an annualized 180 home starts in 2017, marking its best year by far.
“We are so proud to be able to share this great news and thank all of our buyers and owners for elevating Vintage Oaks once again,” said Thad Rutherford, Chief Operating Officer of SouthStar Communities. “We truly are thrilled to be the fastest-growing community in the Hill Country again for the fifth consecutive year, because it means that we are achieving our most important goal by meeting the needs of buyers seeking exceptional Texas land and homes.”
Vintage Oaks has long been acclaimed for its wide range of beautiful land options from 1 to 14 acres in gated and non-gated neighborhoods, and the community is once again No. 1 in large lot communities in San Antonio for housing starts. However, Vintage Oaks is also the No. 1 community in New Braunfels and the top-selling community with homes between $350,000 and $2,000,000—a sure sign that its newest offering, the Grove, is connecting with Texas homebuyers.
“The Grove is our first-ever community of smaller lots, with new homes from five acclaimed builders that offer buyers the opportunity to capture the Vintage Oaks lifestyle in a smaller footprint,” said Rutherford. “The demand for lower-maintenance homes is clearly very strong, as sales of Vintage Oaks’ new homes for the year made it the leading community across this very broad pricing category and put the community well ahead of its much more established competition.”
Vintage Oaks is a draw for everyone from young families to military to retirees seeking a well-located community that offers a combination of peaceful, view-oriented surroundings and convenience to all the best of New Braunfels as well as Austin and San Antonio in a warm and welcoming community.
“The location here is great. We definitely take advantage of everything New Braunfels has to offer. Everything that you need and want to do is right here but if you feel like you do need to experience something larger in a big-city environment, you’re 45 minutes to San Antonio, or less, and an hour or less to Austin. It’s the best of all worlds here,” said owner Anne Marie Laas, who calls her family’s move to Vintage Oaks from Houston, “The best decision we ever made. Vintage Oaks is so different because I think all of us are in the same boat in the fact that we moved here from somewhere else, so we’re not native to New Braunfels,” she added. “We want to make friends and meet our neighbors, and have that sense of community. In the last several years, people haven’t known their neighbors very well. Here, you can’t find a friendlier community. We built a really big front porch in our house and we sit on it all the time, and that’s become a meeting spot for some of our neighbors. It’s just that old front-porch mentality where people see you and stop by.”
That community feel is further fueled by Vintage Oaks’ famed resort-style amenities, which include multiple pools, a lazy river, miles of trails, parks, sport courts and ball fields, and the Tuscan Clubhouse, the site of numerous events and activities that bring residents together. “We really love the Clubhouse and the pool,” said owners Frank and Angela Baker. “We’ve been to almost all of the community concerts. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors, socialize, catch up, and have fun. It’s good bonding time. Having this feature is special. There’s not too many other communities that do this.”
Vintage Oaks is on pace for another industry-leading year in 2018, with new land and home offerings in neighborhoods like The Reserve and East Ranch and new home releases in The Grove to meet ongoing demand, plus Quick Move semi-custom and custom homes for immediate move-in scheduled throughout the year—especially necessary as more buyers learn of the community through friends and family. “We have two close friends who have bought lots and plan to build in the next year or so,” said Dale and Jeff Ragland, who moved to Vintage Oaks from Houston. “We have a calendar like a hotel here! We see some of our friends more now than when we lived in the city.”
