SouthStar Communities’ Vintage Oaks Named Top Community in the Hill Country for Fifth Straight Year

“The location here is great. We definitely take advantage of everything New Braunfels has to offer. Everything that you need and want to do is right here but if you feel like you do need to experience something larger in a big-city environment, you’re 45 minutes to San Antonio, or less, and an hour or less to Austin. It’s the best of all worlds here,” said owner Anne Marie Laas, who calls her family’s move to Vintage Oaks from Houston, “The best decision we ever made. Vintage Oaks is so different because I think all of us are in the same boat in the fact that we moved here from somewhere else, so we’re not native to New Braunfels,” she added. “We want to make friends and meet our neighbors, and have that sense of community. In the last several years, people haven’t known their neighbors very well. Here, you can’t find a friendlier community. We built a really big front porch in our house and we sit on it all the time, and that’s become a meeting spot for some of our neighbors. It’s just that old front-porch mentality where people see you and stop by.”

That community feel is further fueled by Vintage Oaks’ famed resort-style amenities, which include multiple pools, a lazy river, miles of trails, parks, sport courts and ball fields, and the Tuscan Clubhouse, the site of numerous events and activities that bring residents together. “We really love the Clubhouse and the pool,” said owners Frank and Angela Baker. “We’ve been to almost all of the community concerts.
