Since the beginning stages of VIDA planning, Southstar Communities’ Gretchen Howell has been listening to and learning from community leaders and residents, to inform the plan for the 600-acre VIDA San Antonio development adjacent to Texas A&M-San Antonio. The ambitious plan is bringing a number of needed additions to the City’s southside, including retail, mixed-income housing, parks and trails and the much-anticipated University Health campus.

BEXAR COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICT TO PURCHASE LAND FOR SOUTHSIDE FACILITY

The University Health System (UHS) Board of Managers unanimously approved the purchase of 68-acres on the city’s south side. Located at the corner of S. Zarzamora and Jaguar Parkway, the parcel is part of the 600-acre VIDA community situated between Texas A&M University - San Antonio and Palo Alto College.
