Celebrating the New Year in the Texas Hill Country

Do you have plans to celebrate New Years Eve and New Years Day? Whether you get together with family and friends or like to celebrate with a night on the town, we have a list of events you should look at! Even if you are celebrating with the kiddos, we have something on our list for you.

  • JW Marriot - Travel to San Antonio’s JW Marriott for an evening filled with activities for everyone in your family. The hotel and resort have a moonlight celebration for parents, a GLOW and TOAST party for teens and a pajama party for kids!
  • Dance The Night Away - Two-step into 2013 in Bandera, Texas! Enjoy the night while dancing and listening to the Almost Patsy Cline band. Put your boots on and jump in the car. It’s time to two-step!
  • Gruene Hall - We can’t forget the Texas two-step staple, Gruene Hall. Dance the night away at Texas’ oldest dance hall! Gruene Hall presents Stoney LaRue. Buy your tickets now because they are going quick.
  • Black Eyed Pea Cookoff - After you’ve celebrated the end of 2012 and the start of 2013, join an old southern tradition in Fredericksburg. According to legend, “if eaten on the first day of the year, a dish of black eyed peas is a New Year’s tradition thought to bring luck and prosperity for the coming year.” Round up the kids and get ready to eat black eyed peas and listen to local music.

Vintage Oaks hopes you have a fun New Years Eve and a wonderful New Year. We are sure 2013 will bring great things for the Vintage Oaks community and we hope you become a part of it. Until then, be safe and have fun!
