In May 2012, SouthStar Communities acquired 8 residential communities including Vintage Oaks and Havenwood in the Texas Hill Country; King Oaks near College Station, Texas, home of Texas A&M University; Lake Ridge and Sugar Tree near Dallas/Fort Worth; Sanctuary Cove at St. Andrews Sound, Georgia; and Chapel Ridge near Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Laying the Foundation for Frisco, Texas

Our team recognized the market trends at work in the North Dallas area. As the Plano suburbs were developed, we recognized that additional development would proceed north and explode in the North Texas community of Frisco. SouthStar developed the Trails of West Frisco, a 1700-home community which became the foundation for Frisco’s phenomenal growth, and followed that with two additional communities. In all, over 3,000 families live in SouthStar communities in Texas.
